For this piece I made the Ceramic pieces and smashed them up. I then fired the pieces and glazed that shizz. I then glued it to a wood block. then filled in all the holes with grout.

This is a ceramic vase i made with the coiling technique.
I feel this work was okay. Pit firing is when you take a dried ceramic and fill it with burnable stuff and set in in a fire. For paper mache I made all 4 ghosts from pacman.
Process: Making paper mache requires you to mix water and flour until it makes a nice batter, you then use strips of paper to wrap an object with the gooey stuff. Success: I think my piece was successful with minimal failures. Difficulty and Materials: The only difficulty I really encountered was with shaping the chicken wire I used to make the cylindrical shape, the smaller the ghost the harder to shape. I used about 3 layers of paper and 1 layer of paper towel for each ghost. For the paper mache head we started with a ball filled with air, then we wrapped it in tin foil then started to add the paper stuff to shape it, finished with terrible brown paint.
Molding: Daniel and Jonathan Paper stuff: Lucan Paint: Daniel and Jonathan Process: Sgraffito tray made by creating a 1/4th inch slab of clay and laying it out of an old foam meat tray, waited for it to dry and then applied underglaze, fired once. Scraped away black to make patterns. Fired again, done
What Did I Think of the Process: I felt the waiting for it to dry for 2 weeks was a nightmare but besides that was fine. Success?: I feel that it went well but if i could fix one thing it would be to not have made that big white space Felix de Weldon
